About the event

From The Lavendar Sky Foundation:

Hello to all our community heroes!

You are invited to take part in the first Sunshine Coast Inclusive Rugby League Carnival, which will be raising money to support people with disabilities in the areas of sport and social health.

You don’t need to be a lover of rugby league, just someone who wants to get out and have a run around on the field and have some fun.  The reward of playing and meeting our guys is pretty special.

We are looking at holding two – three games on the day depending on numbers.

All genders welcome, players 18 years +.  NRL tag rules

Our proposed times and matches will be confirmed but will look something like below:

12.30  pm Game 1(TBC)

Educators and motivators  v Allied and mental health

1.30 pm Game 2

Veterans v Emergency Responders

2.20pm Main Game – Connect League and NRL Stars

Any media, trades, government or others wishing to play can be added to any of the above teams. It is about showing that we can all work as a community to create a sense of belonging for everyone of all backgrounds and all abilities.

The message we are communicating is “remove the mask” – people with disabilities shouldn’t feel like they need to “mask up” to be accepted within their community.  Education and understanding are key!
